There's been a pretty drastic last minute drop on a flight to Manzanillo, Mexico.

AirTransat.ca is showing it as $2.00 + $197.00 in taxes (a good example of why pre-tax prices are pointless).

Here's how to find it...

1. http://www.airtransat.ca

2. Search for Toronto to Manzanillo, Mexico (ZLO)

- departing Jan 23
- returning Jan 30

3. Click 'find flights'

Really? Guess we shouldn't go anywhere there is violence? It's everywhere people...shootings, stabbings, etc are in all Canadian cities! How about the gangs in the Okanogan this summer, stay away from there I guess!! Plus, it was a tourist that beat that woman....probably from the US or Canada!! I love Mexico, we take our kids there every year...very kind people!! Beautiful Place...

We visited Manzanillo years ago - beautiful hotel, great food, walked around the town and felt safe; but walking the hills near the hotel didn't feel that safe although nothing happened.

Would I go back? Not there and not now; and also because the swimming isn't that great. The drop-off is right at the water's edge - knee deep to out-of-depth in one step or one strong wave into unclear water.

You could get the same results in your own bathoom sir

grow up and smell the roses

Susan, I love Mexico as well. That is not in dispute here. And yes it CAN happen anywhere, but it is happening in Mexico, inside a Riu resort. If it were happening in say, St. Lucia in a Sandals resort than we would be avoiding that as well. But...it isen't. I feel so much for the innocent people in Mexico who's livelyhood deponds on tourism. Those would be the people I would bring to this country in a heartbeat to help them out and give them a fresh start. The drug lords are too mighty Susan.

So now you pay $199.99 round trip to Mexico. Where will you stay and where will you eat? Put that together and you will soon see that the $199 will turn into $800 for a week. At this time of year try the Bahamas for that total price.

Not a chance that I would travel to Mexico. Why would anyone even consider it? This doesn't happen anywhere else in the Carribean. Why? Because the resorts are guarded so well and the punishment for anyone caught is too high a price to pay. They safeguard tourism. They know exactly what will happen if they don't. Mexico taught them well!!!

That can happen anywhere.I love Mexico.

A beach is a beach. I'd rather travel somewhere safer than Mexico. Even if my wife and I have to pay a little more.

Not safe and I don't trust the police in Mexico either.

Only catch is you will likely get beaten and found in an elevator :)
